Embark on this safari in Kenya and Tanzania and see East Africa’s finest national parks on a wildlife extravaganza. From Nairobi, visit the flamingos at Lake Nakuru and into the wild in Kenya’s Masai Mara before winging your way to Tanzania to go in search of the Big Five across the vast open plains of the Serengeti.

Day 1: Nairobi and Lake Nakuru (170 km: 3- 4 hrs)
Our driver/guide will pick you from the the airport and we drive to Lake Nakuru which, will cut across the Great Rift Valley with Mt. Longonot in the background. Here, you safari in Kenya begins.

We will arrive in time for lunch at Lake Nakuru Lodge. After lunch, we set out for an afternoon game drive. The park is known to be a bird watchers’ paradise due to the population of birds, the most famous being the thousands of flamingos which form a beautiful deep-pink coloration around the edges of the lake shore.

There are approximately 400 other species of birds visiting the lake. This is home to several game species including the Rothschild’s giraffe, black and white rhino, waterbuck, reedbuck, lion, buffalo, leopard, and baboon among many others. We will also have a late evening game drive.

Day 2: Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha (93 km: 2 – 3 hrs)

We have early breakfast at the Lake Nakuru Lodge and then begin our journey to Lake Naivasha with en-route game drive in Lake Nakuru. We arrive in time for lunch at the Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge. You spend the afternoon with leisure on your own. We can also take you for a boat ride at Lake Naivasha (payable direct at the lake and the cost not included in our price). We have an evening walk around the lake and then return for dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 3: Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara NR, Kenya (243 km: 5 hrs)

After breakfast, proceed to hells gate park for bicycle riding and walking in the gourges. Hell’s Gate national park is famous for its natural geysers, star rock towers and geothermal steam that make it one of the most atmospheric parks in Africa. This park was named for its pair of massive red tinged cliffs framing a geothermic active interior of steam vents and bubbling springs. In the afternoon, depart Lake Naivasha and drive south to reach the game abundant Masai Mara  arriving in time for lunch. An afternoon game drive in this magical environment reveals the giant herds of plains game and the numerous predators that have made the reserve so famous.

Day 4: Masai Mara National Reserve

A full day spent viewing the great predators and explore the parks’ amazingly high concentration of wild animals. On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals plus the elusive Cheetah and leopard hiding amidst acacia boughs. During the stay we also have an optional opportunity to visit a village of the Masai people to witness the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. A glimpse into their homes and social structure is a poignant experience.

Day 5: Masai Mara Game Reserve

Day 6: Maasai Mara Game Reserve – Isebania boarder – Serengeti (249 km: 5- 6 hrs)

Early morning game drive and then back for breakfast. After breakfast, leave the lodge with game viewing en route to Serengeti. Upon arrival at the Isebania border, have a stop over for lunch. Here, your safari in Tanzania begins.

Day 7 & 8: Serengeti National park (Full days)

These days will be best planned between the clients and their safari guide-either choosing to embark on a full day game drives half day or evening game in the plains of Serengeti.

Serengeti National Park is an immense park and with its unsurpassed concentrations of wildlife and its vast endless grasslands offers the finest game viewing anywhere in Africa. The Serengeti ecosystem is one of the oldest on earth and the annual wildlife migration, largest mass movement of land mammals on planet earth, is perhaps what makes it famous. Over a million wildebeest and zebras flow south from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains every October and November, and then go west and north after the long rains in April, May and June.

Day 9: Serengeti/Optional Olduvai Gorge & Maasai village/Ngorongoro (113 km: 2 hrs)

Early morning breakfast then depart for Ngorongoro conservancy with packed lunch. Game drive en-route with optional visits to Olduvai Gorge, an important archaeological site for Dr. Leakey’s.

Area: 8,300 square kilometers / 5,175 square Miles
This area covers the world’s largest unbroken caldera namely Ngorongoro crater and the Olduvai Gorge, where Dr. Louis Leaky discovered the origin of early man by unearthing jaws of the Zinjanthropus man. This protected area also includes huge expanses of highlands plains and volcanoes, scrub bush, and forests where the indigenous pastoralists – Maasai people are allowed to live within its boundaries.

The Ngorongoro Crater is a world heritage site and the world’s largest unbroken volcanic caldera which is often referred to as the 8th wonder of the world. The crater is 610 meters deep and 260km2. Breathtaking views of scenery and game can be witnessed from both the crater rim and within the crater floor.

Day 10: Ngorongoro – Lake Manyara National park (73 km: 2 hrs)

After breakfast, depart with a morning game drive for Lake Manyara with picnic lunch. After lunch, depart for the afternoon tour of Lake Manyara National park.

Lake Manyara National Park is a beautiful little park and is well known for its tree-climbing lions, elephants and large troops of baboons. The park is home to an amazing variety of birds and animals considering its small size. A short visit to this serene park will greatly diversify your safari experience as the lush green jungle habitat is of stark contrast to the other parks you will visit during your safari.
Lake Manyara, the shallow alkaline water mass named after the park, covers two thirds of the park’s total area of 330 Kilometers square.

Day 11: L. Manyara – Namanga Boarder – Amboseli (225 km: 4  – 5 hrs)

After breakfast, proceed to Arusha for lunch and drive on to Namanga border where our Kenyan guide will meet you and proceed to Amboseli National Park. A brief game drive on the way to the lodge.

Amboseli is an excellent place to view a multitude of wildlife, including everything from Wildebeest, Giraffes, Baboons. Optional visit to a Masai village is planned after breakfast. Maasai warriors are famously known as the proud nomadic tribe whose legendary prowess in battle and single-handed acts of bravery in fights with the wild animals are known across the world. A visit reveals the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. A glimpse into their homes and social structure is a poignant experience.

Day 12: Amboseli NP Full Day

After breakfast, a morning game drive to this park where Mount Kilimanjaro background offers a good photographic scenery coupled with animals on the ground. Lunch is served with a game drive in the afternoon and a visit to a Masai cultural village Boma to learn about their lifestyle and culture.

Day 13: Amboseli – Nairobi (265 km: 4 – 5 hrs)
